Thank You for visiting our website dedicated to asking for your support of our application for a new RADIO license in Gravenhurst: Muskoka Light FM.

We are the Haliburton Broadcasting Group, better known to you as the owner operators of the Moose FM brand of radio stations broadcasting throughout Cottage Country, and Ontario’s North. We are an independent, family run business with 45 year ties to Cottage Country.

Many months ago, we applied to the CRTC (Canadian Radio & Television Commission) for this license because we believe in Gravenhurst as a viable location for a new format; an adult standard, light and easy listening station which communicates specifically with a more mature and discerning group of local listeners. Light up the jukebox with Muskoka Light FM’s All Time Oldies !

We ask you to review the ‘benefits to Gravenhurst’ page. It outlines some initial programming ideas, along with our significant plans for community involvement. Next, we ask you to complete the Support Letter which, with a click of your mouse, will be forwarded directly to the CRTC, with a copy delivered electronically to our office in Bracebridge.

Bottom Line…Music is an incredibly important part of our expertise and we can assure you that we’ll delight your senses with a wonderful selection of recordings from a number of genres, but we want to be clear about one thing. First, we are local broadcasters with an enviable track record of delivering local news, weather and sports by local employees to the communities we serve.

We broadcast “Community First” information based on what you, our listeners want to hear and content that matters. Through many commitments already felt in Gravenhurst Segwun & Wenonah

from our Moose 99.5 FM station, we have supported and contributed significantly to The Salvation Army, Schools, Rotary, Lions, Food Banks, and a host of organizations requiring our assistance. From our perspective, holding a radio license dictates a serious responsibility to serve the community, broadcasting directly from Gravenhurst. This is a promise we make now in writing. We have an excellent reputation with the CRTC. We do what we say and we have always delivered on our commitments and promises to the small market communities we serve like Haliburton, Parry Sound, Bancroft, Elliott Lake, Cochrane, Hearst, and Kapuskasing to name a few. The fact is, we specialize in small market radio broadcasting and we’re proud of it!
